Why is it the The Greatful Dead, the Rolling Stones, the Jefferson Airplane, but it's Led Zep, Moby Grape, Phish? Huh?

Well, since Rob's in bed and can't explain it, I'll at least pt out that it's actually The Grateful Dead. The definitive article. And, though one could say "The Moby Grape", perhaps by conjuring singularity, grape, it feels awkward to us. Stones & DEAD represent collective/plural entities and thus,...oh crap. I forgot.
